Thank you, Isla. Yes, that’s exactly part of the problem. Online spaces are often treated as separate from “real world” contexts, when for many children and young people they are central to belonging, identity, conflict, status and risk.
If we take contextual safeguarding seriously, digital environments have to be part of the picture rather than an afterthought.
